There is a state park up in the west hills of Hillsboro, Oregon. More like mountains when you get up there. Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint.
Where there are lots of trees and a few picnic tables and trails going down the west side of the peak.
Where you can find little wildflowers.
Hidden in the grass.
Both there and not far from there.
Bald Peak is 26 acres, most I think on the sides of the Chehalem Mountains where the park sits 1,629 feet above sea level (497 meters).
The west side still offers very nice views of Yamhill County and farm lands below.
Which can be as lovely as a painting.
And a few years ago there were amazing views from the East side.
Of those Oregon volcanoes like Mount Hood and even further south on a clear day.
And even those Washington ones like Mount Rainier and Mount Saint Helens.
But because the fir trees across the way grew those views are no longer there and you have to hope for a clear space along Bald Peak Mountain Road.
For another view of some of the amazing volcanic mountains or the Northwest.
