A Trip to the Past with Byways Cafe

I have a thing for diners and diner food. To me it's just fun to stop in for a good sandwich and a drink. What makes some even better is their decor. Byways Cafe in Portland definitely has both.

Not only is it smartly dressed with travel related fun items but they have a whole wall of neat items to look at while you wait. I love these cases.

It seems Byways Cafe is a Grimm fan favorite in Portland ever since Reggie Lee said he likes to eat here. But this place has a lot going for it even if you aren't a Grimm fan with it's classic diner feel.

And the many vintage travel items.

How is the food? Well I had their tuna melt with potato salad.

Which was pretty darn good looking along with being delicious. They serve breakfast and lunch and along with sandwiches, salads and burgers they have a turkey and a veggie burger so I need to make a return trip soon to try one.

Byways Cafe is located at 1212 Northwest Glisan Street, Portland, OR 97209 and their website is here if you want more information about them.
