A View From Council Crest

Looking down at part of the city of Beaverton, Oregon from Council Crest. Council Crest is thought to be the highest peak in the city of Portland and in the Tualatin Mountains.

In the opposite direction is Portland, the Fremont Bridge, Columbia River, the city of Vancouver in Washington and Mt St Helens.

And Mt Hood just above the trees.

  1. Mt St Helens looks like Fuji-san! :)

Beautiful photos, and it must be a wonderful hike. Consider me officially jealous.

    1. Before Mount St. Helens blew up in 1980 some did compare it to Mount Fuji. You might find this old image interesting. It's much closer but along the same angle of viewing.

It's actually not too difficult to get to Council Crest. It's been a favorite viewpoint for a long time and once had electric street cars going up there and an amusement park. There are trails there and I walked a little bit on a couple. Maybe some day when I am more up to it I will walk a bit more. It is pretty up there.
