Seeing Mycena

One of the nice things about living in Oregon is the amazing variety of fungi you can find here.

A walk in the woods is never without seeing mushrooms.

Right now there seems to be an abundance of these little Mycena.

Which is a good excuse for a walk in the woods.

These photos were taken at Tualatin Hills Nature Park.

    1. Oregon is famous for it's truffles and chanterelles. I have heard there are morels too. I've seen turkey tails, oyster and one time chanterelles. Since I'm not an expert I don't even attempt picking but I would like to grow some one day. I'm sure there are others here that are edible too.

  2. That looks like something from a Studio Ghibli movie! I swear fairies dance here at night!

    1. I don't know about fairies at night but I know woodland creatures do roam around the fungi.

I wish I was better at macro shots. I love close-ups of these miniature forests.
