Hama Rikyu Gardens Entrance (March 20th, 2011)
Walking across the Otemonbashi Bridge I reached the Hama Rikyu Gardens.
Since mon means gate, there must be one here.
Which there is and this is one side of it. Called Otemon it is the entrance to what was once the family gardens of the Tokugawa Shogun.
Impressive when you start to think of who's feet have walked through here.
If these stone walls could talk.
A bit of the history of these extremely large gardens.
And even the booth to pay has a bit of greenery going on.
