Flowers of Hama Rikyu Teien (March 20th, 2011)
Ume are not the only flowers at the Hama Rikyu Gardens.
There are many different camellias that bloom in winter.
And to my surprise, violets. This was the first time I've seen violets in a garden or anywhere. It's probably too warm for them in Southern California. Please keep looking to see more.
I don't know what this bush is called but it's very colorful and nicely pruned.
My photos do not do these Yuki Yanagi blooms justice. They were gorgeous!
I think the English name would be snow willow. Which is a perfect descriptive name for them.
If I had a garden and needed shrubbery, I would want these.
More ume trees. But not at the grove.
But near the most popular flowers at the garden. Which I will share next post.
