Beyond Nakagin (March 20th, 2011)
Right by Nakagin Capsule Tower is this stairway that you would think leads to a subway or perhaps a way to walk across the busy street.
However from what I could tell there is a restaurant down there. Not well lit either. I didn't check it out further.
Some of these boats might look familiar to people who have been to Tokyo. I'm pretty sure some are part of the Sumida River Taxis. But thanks to the disasters they were not running.
Other things were running though. Keep looking to find out what.
Shin Odashi Dori (street) was busy with taxis and other vehicles. Construction work wasn't happening though. And if you look at the center of the photo there is the Nakagin Capsule Tower. Which is just a short walk from some place rather popular.
It's near Shiodome and the Conrad Tokyo Hilton. The elevated road is the Inner Circular Route.
It's also very near the Hama Rikyu Teien Garden. This is the bridge leading to it.
And a look at the wonderful wall surrounding the garden. Which I will have more about in the posts coming up.
