Sunday Stroll: Veterans Parkway
It's a little odd to see a walkway start from a sunken parking lot just off of Pacific Coast Highway. Stuck in between shopping areas and going under the highway it's a little creepy at the start.
But continue along the bark covered path and you will see it's a nice place to stroll.
With the sun setting and amid very nice homes one becomes relaxed.
While it's hard to see, occasionally there are glimpses of the Pacific Ocean just beyond the row of houses. Sadly it doesn't show up in photos.
While a lot of it is groomed there are still examples of nature's own hand that can be seen.
It gives one a nice break from the traffic strewn streets of the area.
Running through a couple cities it's a full three and three-fourths of a mile long. With markers to let you know just how far you have gone.
From Manhattan Beach to Hermosa Beach, it's a path that isn't crowded, a nice alternative to the real world frenzy just a couple blocks away.
