Since every year here there is an overabundance of Cinco de Mayo, I thought I would go with something less familiar to me. Yet so much more meaningful this year.
These are Koinobori, or carp wind socks, that were flying at a local festival here this last weekend. I have read that in Japan they started flying the Koinobori early this year as a reminder to have strength like carp do. They are wonderful to see.
