Japanese meal in Gotoku

After we left Gotokuji, we walked back to the train station. Before leaving we wanted to eat so looking around we thought this place might be interesting

I don't know if I showed this photo before. It's a small restaurant not far from the Gotokuji complex. Only one other person was in there dining.

Part of the more traditional dining area. We sat at a regular table since B has a bad knee. A very nice lady gave us menus. Which was a challenge since nothing was in English and very few photos. Being brave we each picked out something that had a photo next to it.

B's very yummy meal which included shrimp, oysters, potato salad and Japanese pumpkin, kabocha.

I had tempura and cold soba noodles that were quite good.

Picked-up a few things from a store as we left, including this nice bag which was very useful the rest of the trip.

So we get back to our ryokan because we have to do this.

Yes we took part in a traditional tea ceremony which included a lesson. Ah, I will always remember the words of Sensei Soyu Maruyama....
