a late hanami post

Since I am not going back to school till Fall at the earliest, my summer is pretty open. So I am going to try and post a few things I have put off.

One of the nice things we did this spring was take time to admire local cherry (sakura) trees. I brought a long a little nigori sake and sweets. The sake is Sakuri and was not strong but sweet. The sakura sweets are called gyuhi and made of mochi and some type of center. I think it was lima bean paste. Both were quite delicious!

Speaking of books I read when I was younger

Kariguarashi no Arrietty, Studio Ghibli's version of The Borrowers.  Very lush looking!  I am looking forward to seeing this!

not gone just yet

These blogs haven't been abandoned. Just been spending some time getting some real life stuff done. It always should be more important. Also thanks to LiveJournal and another site I had to buy a new computer. Yup, LiveJournal's flash had a nasty virus in it. Glad I never bought an account there. My old computer still works but I'm not going to use it to go on-line any more. It needed some work but instead I have a brand spankin' new quick little computer that seems to be more effect. Older computer will now exist to hopefully edit music and write more movie scripts. Since those programs don't work with the new machine.

In the meantime, here's a little something to tide us over.
